Lanz Bulldog 'ELS' Operating Manual for Model N, M and P Tractors
Lanz tractors were renown for their simplicity, relying on hot bulb compression for their ignition source, rather than electric ignition. This was reliable and fullproof, but primitive. Inevitably, Lanz introduced an electrical ignition and lighting system in the 1940s, making the tractors easier to start and enabling to operate at night.
This operating manual was offered as an addendum for N, M and P models with the optional electrical systems.
This manual (and the subsequent Lanz manuals I will be posting) were collected by David Kirby, a small-hold farmer and tractor enthusiast from Wanneroo who passed away recently after a tragic hit-and-run accident. I have acquired his collection of Lanz manuals for donation to the Tractor Museum.
